Photography Workshop in San Antonio
Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a photography workshop in San Antonio. This wasn't just any workshop—it was hosted by four of my favorite senior and portrait photographers, each known for their unique lighting and photography styles. The experience was both inspiring and educational, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights and what I learned during this transformative trip.
From the moment I arrived in San Antonio, I knew this workshop was going to be special. The city itself is rich with history and culture, providing a stunning backdrop for our sessions. The workshop was structured to maximize hands-on learning, with each photographer sharing their distinct approach to capturing stunning images.
The instructors for this workshop were Nathan Loker, Josh Hanna, Dan McLanahan and Gavin Ward.
Nathan is the master of formal sportraits. He uses techniques by combining dimensional lighting with dynamic posing to create awesome images!
Josh is the master of cinematic senior portraits. He creates moody and dramatic images using lighting, posing and composition to create emotive portraits that will grab your attention!
Dan is the master of commercial senior portraits, and one of my very favorite photographers. He uses a creative approach to capture the interest of the senior and is able to tell their story with his portraits.
Gavin is the master of hard light senior photography. Hard light is difficult to control and can be intimidating, but when done correctly the images turn out awesome!
I left San Antonio with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, eager to apply these new techniques to my work. Whether I’m shooting senior portraits, modeling portfolios, or epic sports images, the skills I gained will be invaluable and really help bring each client’s best self to light.
