Exceptional Day at The Beehive!

I recently had the joy of spending time with The Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama at my studio, The Beehive! As part of their Be Blessed program’s new Fine Art major, I was invited to share a little bit about photography—specifically, how to make your photos more creative with lighting, color, poses, expressions, and props! After a fun and interactive presentation, we wrapped things up with a casual photoshoot. Our backdrop matched their Auburn gear perfectly, in honor of the day’s AU Special Olympics theme!

The Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama provides year-round educational, recreational, and creative programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are no longer served in the school system. Their mission is all about creating An Exceptional Community of Friends, and I loved getting a glimpse of that beautiful community in action.

Fun Bonus Story! This visit took place on April 1st, and the room was FULL of April fools jokes that kept everyone on their toes - I was genuinely fooled when a sweet girl in the group stopped me during the presentation to tell me my windows were cracked! If the photos aren’t evidence enough, I had so much fun with this crew and hope to do it again sometime!!
