Celebrating Sara Kate: A Senior Portrait Session
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sara Kate for her senior portraits, and what a beautiful journey it was! Having previously taken her older brother’s senior pictures a few years back, it felt wonderful to reconnect with the family and create new memories.
We started off the session at First Methodist Church of Opelika. The church holds special significance for Sara Kate and her family, making it the perfect backdrop for some stunning images. We aimed to recreate a shot I took of her brother for matching wall art pieces, and I was thrilled to see how we captured that same spirit and style in Sara Kate’s portraits. The historic architecture combined with her radiant smile made for an unforgettable start.
Next, we headed to the fountain in downtown Opelika. This part of the session was so fun as Sara Kate jumped for joy celebrating her senior year! I loved capturing those candid moments of pure joy—it’s what senior portraits are all about!
Our adventure continued at Monkey Park, where Sara Kate transformed into a graceful ballet dancer. In her dance attire, she performed some impressive ballet movements that showcased her talent and passion for dance. It is always inspiring to see her express herself through movement, and I was thrilled to document such a special side of her personality. Cheering big for her as she incorporates dance into her career plans! It is truly a gift that I’m so glad she will develop even further after high school.
Finally, we made our way to a charming white bridge, where Sara Kate wore a flowy pink dress that was just beautiful! This location added a whimsical touch to the session, and I couldn’t resist capturing a few playful moments, including one with her little sister joining in on the fun. The love and joy shared between the sisters made for some truly heartwarming shots.
Bonus photos! It is evident that Sara Kate is not only a talented individual but also a sweet and smart young lady. Being named the Distinguished Young Women (DYW) of Lee County speaks volumes about her character and dedication to her community, and I was honored to be able to capture her official photos for her participation in DYW Alabama coming up this January! I have no doubt she has a bright future ahead of her.
Thank you, Sara Kate, for allowing me to be a part of this exciting chapter in your life. I hope these images serve as a beautiful reminder of your senior year and all the wonderful adventures that lie ahead!
Stay tuned for more senior sessions as we continue to celebrate the Class of 2025!
