It’s GAMEDAY!!! Tonight is the sold out local rivalry matchup between Opelika and Auburn varsity football teams!! Last month I challenged my VIP List to create school spirit tailgate setups for a fun photoshoot competition, and I’m so excited to highlight these two schools on the day of their big game!

A minimalistic session in the studio is always a great idea for children! This sweet session with little Holly was full of love and joy. Holly got to have her photo taken with pink and purple backgrounds to match her sweet outfits! One of the things I love about studio sessions is the ability to pick different background colors to suit a child’s personality or even match their room decor.

As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless stories through my lens, but few have been as inspiring as my recent session with Julie, also known as Miss Wiregrass. Julie’s journey to compete in the upcoming Miss Alabama USA pageant is a testament to resilience, determination, and the evolving landscape of beauty pageants.

High School Senior Portraits are just my favorite thing to photograph as a photographer!! And Grace’s senior pictures were no exception. From the moment I met Grace, I knew we were going to get along just fine ha from her love of fashion and sparkles, to her adorable sidekick Gunner, being a Distinguished Young Woman participant and Auburn High School majorette….I love working with seniors who have lots of interests and hobbies because the possibilities for fun outfits and photo ideas are endless!

This session has been on my list to share for a LONG time! Brianna came to the studio toward the end of last year to do some maternity photos with me, and it was such a beautiful experience! Some of my favorite sessions are with people who are a little hesitant and unsure if they are going to like their photos, or don’t believe they are photogenic….because me and my team can usually prove otherwise and take all those concerns away!

Flashback Friday! Joe was a Class of 2023 Senior that I had the pleasure of working with this Spring! This year has been HUGE for senior portraits with senior guys, and with several still coming up on my calendar for the year, I wanted to share what we’ve been up to!

Auburn Football celebrated a resounding victory against UMass this past weekend, setting the stage for an exhilarating start to the new football season. We also set the stage for a great year with this Auburn inspired photo shoot!

So thrilled to share another senior “legacy” session today! By legacy, I mean that I’ve been honored to create senior portraits for multiple siblings in the same family over the years. In Ella’s case, she’s number 3 to graduate from her family!! What feels like a really long time ago, I was a Sunday School teacher for Ella’s age group and she has always been adorable, funny, nerdy/geeky, strong, and beautiful inside and out! I can’t believe she’s graduating now!!

One of the highest compliments you can give a photographer is coming back to them again and again when you have more important memories to capture! The Zeh’s have given me that honor of working with them for their oldest daughter’s senior photos, a family session, and now their 2nd daughter’s turn for senior photos!

I am thrilled that I got the opportunity to capture the majorettes for a second time! They are the sweetest and most talented group of girls. Last year we took photos at Duck Samford Stadium, but due to construction we had to relocate. This year we took photos at Auburn High School, and it was a fun change of scenery!

Fall is right around the corner and summer is the time to reserve those coveted fall session dates in advance! As you’re planning your own family photos this year, I wanted to take the opportunity to look back at a wonderful example of fall family portrait potential from 2022! I loved being able to spend time with the Abalos family and witness/capture fun moments of interacting with each other, making each other laugh, and cuddling in close with big smiles for the camera!

I love when I get to be creative with my clients and help them have photos that help reflect their personality. It gives me great joy to see you in your element.

If you’ve ever done a photo session in the summer, you know that it is beautiful! But also a lot of hard work in this crazy heat ha and there are some long studio days as well! Thankfully this summer I had some help from recent AHS graduate Kiley who assisted me on most of my shoot days this summer! Kiley is preparing to go to college in Mississipi, and I’m thankful she chose to spend many of her summer vacation days with Lauren Beesley Photography. During one of our studio mini days, I had an unfilled spot, so I put Kiley in Beauty by Tori Mejia’s hair and makeup chair and then put her in front of the camera! She told me she’s never had photos like this of herself, and it made me smile to know we could do these for her!

I recently photographed a business branding and social media content session for a wonderful client named Susan Steele (who also happens to be my beautiful mother)! She started a business here in Auburn and Opelika Alabama offering sound baths for meditation and healing, and of course needed some professional photos to help establish and promote her practice.

With a brand like Barbie getting so much attention this year, it was too tempting to have some photoshoot fun to celebrate this fabulous feminine icon! I pulled in a few VIP teen and senior portrait clients and asked them to bring their favorite pink outfits for a studio photoshoot, and they even managed to each have a little bit of a theme for their looks. Check it out!

We took a VIP family photo vacation for this year’s 4th of July session!! Or did we??? Photoshop Beta’s new AI Generative Fill tool is making it harder and harder to tell reality from virtual creations. See a few applications of this new technology currently being tested by photographers and digital creators alike!
