Miss America Abbie Stockard’s Homecoming

Auburn University recently had the incredible honor of welcoming home one of its own — Miss America, Abbie Stockard. Past and present members of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority gathered to celebrate alongside Abbie’s family, friends, a host of Auburn supporters and even Aubie came by! As a photographer, I was beyond thrilled to be asked to document this special event, capturing the joy, admiration, and celebration surrounding Abbie’s return to the Plains.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Abbie attended Auburn University, where she became an integral part of campus life. A proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta and a talented performer on the Tiger Paws dance team, she has already left her mark on Auburn. She holds several titles - including Miss Hoover and Miss Alabama before being crowned Miss America, Abbie is amazingly talented and extremely inspiring!

One of the highlights of the evening was the speeches presented - people took turns sharing what an impact Abbie has had on them and Auburn as a community. And in recognition of Abbie’s achievements, a foundation was established in her name to provide scholarships for deserving students. This initiative ensures that her legacy of service and empowerment continues to inspire future generations. Then Abbie took stage, where she shared her journey to becoming Miss America and expressed gratitude for the support she has received. It was truly touching!

We ended the unforgettable night with a large group photo inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, a fitting tribute to Abbie’s deep connection to Auburn and the support of her Auburn family. Being part of this event was truly an honor. It was a night filled with laughter, pride, and admiration for a woman who embodies everything that Auburn stands for. Capturing these moments through my lens was a privilege, and I’m grateful to have been a small part of such a special celebration.

Congratulations, Abbie, on this incredible achievement! Auburn is so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish as Miss America!
