Lifestyle Studio Newborn/Family Session
There’s something extra special about photographing an old friend! Carson and I haven’t seen each other since college, so when she reached out about capturing her growing family, I was beyond excited. She and her husband Drew recently welcomed their third baby, sweet little George, and we celebrated with a cozy, love-filled family session in the studio.
A Lifestyle Approach to Family Photography
With three little ones, we knew this session needed to feel natural and relaxed. Instead of focusing on perfectly posed portraits, we embraced a lifestyle approach using gentle prompts to guide the session. I encouraged moments like, “Everyone get as close to the baby as you can,” “Kiss your baby brother on the head,” and “Tickle each other and sway while you hug each other.” These prompts created real, heartfelt interactions, allowing the love and joy of this family to shine through in every frame.
Cozy Moments with Baby George
Newborn sessions don’t always go as planned, and that’s perfectly okay! Baby George has been a little fussy, so traditional newborn poses weren’t the best fit for him. Instead, we leaned into the natural, cozy moments—snuggles in Mom and Dad’s arms, big siblings adoring their new baby brother, and lots of laughter and movement. This approach not only suited George’s needs but also created images that feel warm, genuine, and full of life.
Capturing the Beauty of Family
Watching Carson and Drew with their three little ones was such a joy. The way they embraced the beautiful chaos of this season of life made for the most heartfelt images. I’m so grateful Carson trusted me to document this special time in their lives. These early days with a new baby go by in a blink, but now they’ll always have these images to look back on and remember the sweetness of this season.
