Happy 2024!!! NYE Styled Photoshoot

Senior year is such an exciting time, and for me, that’s part of what makes senior portraits my favorite category of photography!! Every year, my seniors get a bonus opportunity to come back a few times during their senior year to do fun themed group sessions - this year I started calling it The VIP List! These VIPs seniors are moving into a very special year as the Class of 2024, so celebrating the New Year together seemed like a no brainer.

Usually for these shoots, I’ll organize everything, specify a location and wardrobe style, and provide props as needed, but this particular photoshoot was a bit more collaborative!! Two of my seniors, Grace and Collier, arrived early on shoot day to help me build our set. I had prepurchased several large insulating foam boards and a large roll of mylar paper and a few staplers…all we had to do was scrunch and staple the mylar to create really dynamic geometric shapes, and we had a super sparkly backdrop in about an hour!! Pro tip if anyone plans to do this kind of project: Buy LOTS of staples. We ran out quickly. A peek into the creation process is here: Behind The Scenes Reel!

Another fun element for this session was the light up number signs from Bubbles Party Co! Be sure to check them out for balloon, sign, and other party rental needs!

6 beautiful seniors joined me for this celebratory photoshoot, and they all came dressed in their best New Year’s Eve party dresses!! There was SO much sparkle.

As we got into the session, the studio disco balls also made an appearance! How could they not, with such a glittery, sparkly, sequin, reflective scene!! My favorite part of the whole photoshoot was probably when these creative young women asked if they could build a disco snowman haha I adore them!! We had so much fun creating these photos :)
