Gabi’s Senior Session in Downtown Opelika

Class of 2025 senior portraits are underway!! I loved working with Auburn High senior Gabi to create some personalized and meaningful senior photos to celebrate her final year of high school! Gabi chose downtown Opelika for its historic buildings, charming streets, and vibrant atmosphere. Downtown Opelika provides is an awesome place for senior portraits because it has a great variety of settings and backgrounds

Gabi knew she wanted to incorporate a coffee shop in her session because of her love for iced coffee. We chose The Coffee Shop in downtown Opelika for its cute and cozy vibe. From their unique window nooks, colorful couches and amazing coffee, this was definitely the perfect choice. If you are ever around town, make sure to stop in and try a coffee and enjoy the atmosphere!

Gabi Senior Portraits The Coffee Shop Opelika

Gabi’s birth parents are originally from Guatemala, but she was born in Opelika where she was adopted and raised by the Reyes Family. Gabi and her family wanted to include something from her culture in her senior portraits to represent the country she was born in. She chose a custom stole to display Guatemalan flag and American flag. The choice of using the train tracks (don’t worry these are dead end tracks that are no longer in use!) is also a nod to Gabi’s childhood. We recreated a photo from when she was a child using the same tracks. It was truly touching to be a part of these special photos.

You may have seen Gabi around, because her parents own the popular Mexican restaurant in Auburn, Laredo’s. If you haven’t been go visit them and try out their cheese dip!
