Heartfelt Pet & Family Portraits
Some photo sessions are truly just special, and my recent time with the Sprayberry family was exactly that. Charles and Dyana reached out to me with a heartfelt request - they wanted a family session centered around their beloved chocolate lab, Nick. Nick has been their loyal companion through so many chapters of life, and in response to increasing health issues, the Sprayberrys wanted to capture special memories and honor Nick as the noble companion he is, with energy to enjoy the things he loves most - like playing with sticks and chasing his brother Mack!
We started the session with a special request - capturing candid action shots of Nick and Mack playing together. It was so fun to freeze those moments in time. Charles and Dyana joined in too, running, laughing, and playing with their dogs. The love between this family radiated in every frame.
Nick was the star of the session, and what a star he was! Despite his age, he lit up the day with his playful spirit. We spent time at some of their family’s property where there was plenty of room for the pups to run around and play! From chewing on sticks, chasing his brother Mack, and enjoying the company of his human family!
Alongside Nick was Mack, an energetic boxer puppy who brought even more liveliness to the session. Mack’s energy was contagious as he sprinted around. While he wasn’t a fan of staying still for long, it was heartwarming to see how attentive and protective he was of Nick. Mack’s role as his brother’s keeper was so evident, and just the sweetest testament to the love and loyalty our animals bring to our families!
After the dogs had their fun, we focused on some individual and couple portraits of Charles and Dyana. I loved seeing their connection shine through in every shot. It was clear that their bond isn’t just between the two of them but extends to the four-legged members of their family.
This session was a beautiful reminder of the importance of capturing memories with those we hold dear — whether they walk on two legs or four! Charles and Dyana, thank you for trusting me to document this chapter of your lives. Nick and Mack are two incredible pups, and their bond with you is something truly special.
